The Uprising was one of the most gorgeous days I have ever experienced. The Holy Spirit was moving in and transforming people right in front of our very eyes. One of the most amazing interactions I had that day was with a pastor who is getting ready to plant a church south of Indianapolis. Talking with him and his wife I began to understand… If they get this now, if they understand the truth of Jesus’ heart for His bride, the whole future of their new church could change. The church that they are planting could be built on an Acts 2 foundation that would create a culture of redemption and transformation. Their church could join the revolution and the mission of reaching lost people for Jesus Christ courageously. I think that Jesus is using the Uprising to help give birth to hope in Southern Indianapolis through this couple who received a clear picture of who Jesus’ bride, the Church, is meant to be.
Pete opened up with saying “Don’t underestimate the difference a day can make in your life.” I then witnessed one of my invites go from a person saying “I was forced into leadership in my church” to a person embracing the possibilty in that opportunity. I pray I never underestimate the difference God can make with one conversation, or with one invite I make. I say yes to taking that risk.
I can’t believe how much hope, unity, and courage the Uprising brings to my ministry. Just having all of those leaders in one place, infused hope into me. And that was before I heard Pete or Erwin speak about who we can really be with Christ if we just live in the “what if” of God’s plans. I can’t wait to see what He’s going to do next. The Uprising is a shot of God Can, like nothing else.
The Uprising was a great experience for our team! We were challenged and blessed by the teaching of Erwin McManus and Pete Wilson and were ministered to and inspired by the great people of Quest Community Church. I recommend this event to anyone looking to engage in God’s mission for the world. – Springdale Community Church
I got the honor of helping park guests as they showed up for the Uprising. The volunteers cheered each car into the parking lot and really set the atmosphere for the love that would be evident all over the conference to come. As one pastor got out of his car, even before entering the building, he said, “I LOVE COMING TO QUEST!”. At lunch I ate with a group of three, including a pastor from a local church, that were already fired up about continuing the ‘shakeup’ in their nearby church. They had come the previous year & were encouraged and even more determined that reaching lost people would be at the forefront of their ministry, not just keeping the traditions. I loved seeing the unity in the body of Christ!
When Erwin was telling the story of flying into the glass on set & said, “you have to go at it full force, or it will blow up in your face”, Jesus was speaking so loudly-that’s how He wants me to live. I can’t just follow Him or do ministry lazily or quietly…it’s gotta be full-force, no holding back.
I don’t know what I was expecting this year walking into The Uprising. What I was met with was a picture of what my life could actually look like. What I could be and be a part of if I just jumped and stop waiting for the glass to be broken first of the bridge to be put in place. If I just jump and trust Him my life could be crazy and filled with the miraculous that Jesus has for me.
“What if your best days are ahead of you?” That’s not a question that many people would think to ask the Church, but I’m so glad Pete Hise did! As The Uprising conference ends and The Uprising movement continues, I’m floored all over again by the power and potential of the local church to change the world. It all begins when even just one leader embraces their calling, has the courage to risk it all, and trusts God by jumping out into the unknown with Him. Multiply that by about 1000 leaders and you’ve got the beginnings of a serious Uprising!
This year I watched pastors and leaders – returning ones and new ones – walk in with humble hearts and leave absolutely wrecked by Jesus and what their “YES” could mean in eternity. People were slammed with the reality that the church portrayed in Acts 2 can actually happen again…IS happening again. I watched people realize that the potential of the local church is staggeringly beautiful and that the eternities of the people they shepherd are hanging in the balance. Pastors I spoke to were in a daze, wrecked by the picture they got of the sad state the Church is in, but hopeful and ignited for Christ, eager to see what “yes’es” Jesus had for them to say – in their personal life and on behalf of their church and those they lead, knowing that the courage to do so comes from knowing the One in whom they trust.
This will go down as one of the most substantial crossroads of my life. Hearing from Pete Hise and Erwin McManus- I’ve been dared to go full force into the obstacles that lay ahead of me, knowing the one I trust. I’ve got a lot to grapple with a distill over the next few days. And I know that I’ll never recover. Quest Community Church.
I knew Erwin Mcmanus’ talk would be really great but I didn’t know it would end up changing my life. For years, I’ve said no to dreams because of fear or clinching onto past mistakes but God revealed to me a calling, a vision that will come to reality in my life! I didn’t know he would pick The Uprising ’11 to do this in me. It will be really risky but I have courage! Quest Community Church.
The Uprising was phenomenal! Getting the privilege of hearing Erwin McManus speak in person was out of this world! I love that pastors from all around the globe were able to gather in one spot and be reignited for the local Church. Worshipping with all of those pastors and church leaders was an amazing experience! Looking forward to the ripple effect. Quest Community Church.
Coming from a culture where churches argued about doctrine and reasons why they were different, I am so excited to see the vision of uniting churches under the banner of Jesus through the Uprising. I am totally captured by the beautiful Bride Jesus left on this earth to be His hands and feet, and I can’t wait to see it’s power unleashed when we as churches all begin fighting on the same side, Jesus’ side!
